At: Corkbus Chelsea Market (75 9th Avenue, New York, NY)
Join us to have a drink and discuss about consciousness, tech, science and AI.
This Wednesday, following up on our discussions about Creativity in Chess last week, we will discuss the technological implications of AlphaGo for the future of AI. Recent progress in machine learning has changed the view of how AI is going to affect human society. The discussion will be led by Olaf Witkowski, research scientist from Tokyo Tech and the Institute for Advanced Study, who is also a dan-level Go player.
AlphaGo is a computer program developed by Google DeepMind, that has become extremely good at playing the board game of Go, a game known for its complexity. Last March, it beat a 9-dan professional player without handicaps, and was awarded an honorary 9-dan by the Korea Baduk Association.
